A Visit from Grandma

This past Sunday my Grandma stopped by the house while I was wrestling the internet and my provider. She came inside and immediately started complaining about how she is so frustrated because everybody’s Christmas list is shared via email and how she has zero interest in learning how “that whole deal” works. So she said that like it or not people might receive gifts that they didn’t ask for and that is how that is going to work. I told her that I could set up an email account for her and when people emailed her I could call her and read it to her. In retrospect, I’m not sure that was a good idea. She then started explaining how she has been driving around for the last 2 hours looking for G-Rides to get me a gift certificate for x-mas. She said that she went to where they used to be located and asked some randoms where they moved to. The randoms told her that G-Rides is now located on Cox road. So she has been driving up and down Cox rd for a couple hours looking for a store that is actually located on Cincinnati-Dayton rd. I pulled up google maps and showed her exactly where they are located and explained why I like to support my local board shop and who those dudes are. She cut me off about half way through my explanation and said that she wanted to see some sunglasses and how she needs an extra pair to keep in the car. I went downstairs and came up with maybe 10 different styles and colors and she tried all of them on and told me in so many words why each pair sucked and in the end she picked out the exact same pair that she already has and wore them inside for the rest of her visit with me. It was awesome. Grandmas are awesome.
