I saw and in some very minuscule way feel like I contributed to the one of the coolest things I have seen since the birth of Wake Nation. Our very own Neil Barker with the great state (sorta) of Michigan riding on his back rode 100 straight laps in the late night hours under the lights at wake nation friday. Not that anyone there would have doubted our boy on this mission but at the same time it took what felt like 2-3 hours. As he got up in the later laps his support crew cheered himself, his dog Abbey and the “wannabe Canadian” state of Michigan to victory. attaboy Neil!

mucho gracias to t-roy for filming us for over 3 hours on what ended up being another amazing afternoon out at Wake Nation. everybody riding that day had their sights on the ‘iceberg’ and were throwing it down. not only was it fun to be part of this afternoon but it was also hilarious to watch wreck after wreck after stunt. great times!

the other day t-roy and shaw schemed up the idea of getting a better view of the iceberg. by rolling in a boomhower and setting that thing above the ‘berg’, people started going for broke. I would have to say that everybody riding that day at least got one new stunt for their bag of tricks if not five. t-roy stood up in the bucket and took one for the team as the sun beat down on him filming the crew. his unselfishness produced around 16 gigs of video and pictures. some turned out amazing and some didn’t. unfortunately its going to take me a couple days to sift through it all and pump out a video. so enjoy this sequence of luke doing the electric boogaloo while i work on the video.

so this friday turned out to be a little bit different than the usual friday. about the time I would normally be enjoying a fine Cincinnati chili dog, we were packing into a fairly small plane that was going to deliver us to the clouds and then spit us out at 12,000 feet. the free fall was the coolest thing I have ever been thorough but struggled a tad with dangling in a parachute at 5k feet heading toward ground. I wouldn’t say that this experience made me no longer afraid of heights I just think that I now know what the worst fear of heights actually feels like. amazing experience and the people there were as cool as they come. I think I might stay on the ground for a while now. Check that one off the list.
