Get It Going Monday – Music Dump

I had a chance this weekend to chill out and listen to some new music. This is some of my favorites that I came across. Photo taken at Green River Lake in Kentucky.

Haspen Achres 11.27.2009

So once again while most of the world was waking up early and racing out to take part in black Friday and shop to their hearts content, we packed up the cooler and the carhartts for another trip out to Haspen Acres Indiana. This might very well be the best tradition that I take part in. There was a number of other dudes that were supposed to join us and for whatever reason they didn’t, they sure missed a great time. We rode from about 11am until one of us rolled down maybe the steepest hill out there under the moon light. I’m just happy that we were able to bring back all the troops that entered the jungle with us. What a great time. Met some great dudes and heard some great stories as well as created a couple new ones. Thanks again dudes, cant wait till next year.

We shot this picture a couple years back for a ad in STUCK magazine. The ad was for effort skateboards and was staged in our old office. The funny thing about the ad was after it was printed people just thought that we photoshopped a picture of James into a picture of the office. Idiots. A couple funny things about the whole deal was that I think this was the only time James has ever worn a time to work. Ali getting yelled at by the boss man. Michelle came in to make it look like we have a receptionist and the fake pie charts on the marker board.
Bumper Car Down Little Miami
Posted by admin | Filed under Pictures
Just for the record we should point out that Troy’s Bumper Car raft thing did in fact float 12 miles down the Little Miami River. It wasn’t pretty but in the end the Captain did show up at the rendezvous point come midnight. As you can see, the bumper car was attached to a skid and used an empty keg and empty oil drums for flotation. Don’t try this at home.
Boardslide over shark death

Rice took this sequence of me board sliding over the grass gap at the skatepark in Ludlow Kentucky. A fun little prefab skate park that is well worth the check out. Rice also photoshopped up the sequence for me. It looks soo much narley-er when sharks are involved.
Kendogg’s Compound

So Kendogg has been busy building a mega winch setup in his backyard. We headed out there saturday to help lay sod and get a look at what will be ready for action come spring 2010. My first thoughts were that the ponds are a lot bigger and deeper than I was expecting. This is going to be so much fun. Great work Kendogg!

Cage the Elephant – Aint no rest for the wicked

Cage the Elephant is a band hailing from Bowling Green Kentucky. I first heard of them when they were touring with one of my favorite bands Silversun Pickups. This song seems to pair up nicely with the picture above of Josh Teen Wolfing out the golf cart on a beach in the middle of the night on some desolate island.

We were going through some old video footage the other day and were talking about how cool is was watching Spencer riding on the Licking River take off from one wake and almost land on the shore. He always made the Licking seem more narrow than it was.

I’m not exactly sure why but every year come winter time I tend to fade out of the Reggae music and start turning toward Hip-Hop. This year I came across this dude who is making a name for himself on the internet representing Gary Indiana. Freddie Gibbs seems like he has grown up listening to Tupac and at times sounds somewhat similar. By no means is he on Tupacs level but that not saying that he couldn’t get there one day. Yours Truly shot a cool video of Gibbs in the studio on one of his more popular songs from his latest mixtape. Check it here
MotoXtremes Whip
Posted by admin | Filed under Pictures
Every year MotoXtremes out in Harrison Indian has an open house party and opens their doors to all. I went a couple years back and had my first real up close taste of some freestyle motoX. The picture above is Tommy Clowers doing a massive whip for the friends and family of MotoXtremes. My intentions were to stitch these pictures together and get it printed for Kevin (the owner). Never quite happened. The open house is usually in early October and I plan to go next year.
