Its been in the 50′s and rather crappy for the past 2-3 weeks. Yesterday it was up around 70 and somewhat sunny so we headed to the cable park for some riding. The water was cold and Nick had a sweet mustache. Neil somehow got his hands on a GoPro Hero waterproof camera and we gave it a test run before the season was Mick Dundee. This is what came out of our footage. Music by Aesop Rock.

Last winter Joel and I decided it was our fate to see what the lake is like in the dead of winter. We had often talked about a winter lake trip mostly when we are sitting around the lake sunburnt and somewhat drunk and to tell you the truth I had always thought it was a good idea. So last winter we actually made a break for it. We came to find out that the lake that ‘never gets below 60 degrees’ was almost completely frozen over. We had to break through the ice to get from the boat ramp to the dock. It was a little bit scary at times and mostly freezing balls. Sure we made some ‘screaming eagle chili’ but I’m not sure that it made us all that warm. Moral of the story here is that boating is not for the winter and the summer is pretty much over. Oh yea, we almost shot the boombox with the shotgun because it was too cold to play. Glad we didn’t because it now works.
Hot Rod Cruise

So last night turns out to be the first night I was able to go for a cruise in Troy’s hot rod. To tell you the truth I knew it was going to be fun but had no idea that it was going to be as fun as it was. That thing is a nasty little son of a bitch beast. It was weird that I had waited until it was 45 degrees out but with the heat coming off the engine and the sparks shooting under your seat I stayed plenty warm. And then after we had a couple beers in our stomach and the rain started to sprinkle, troy pulls to the side of the road and says “your driving”. Thanks dude, that made my night. I knew I wasn’t going to hit that camry coming around that first turn. What a night!
